It’s Public Act 102-0055, which amends the school code “by adding a provision that, beginning with the 2022-2023 school year, every public high school is required to include in its curriculum a unit of instruction on media literacy.” Let’s hope this fares better than state-required instruction on Leif Erikson, or the role of groups including “German, Hungarian, Irish, Bohemian, Russian, Albanian, Italian, Czech, Slovak, French, Scots, Hispanics, Asian Americans, etc.,“ in the history of Illinois.
