Google is placing ads for content with misinformation on the topic of climate, in breach of its promise

The findings, released Thursday by the nonprofit Center for Countering Digital Hate, highlight the limits of those pledges, although Google cites pressure from advertisers not to want products to appear alongside content that undermines climate science than it does on the pledge has submitted. All 50 articles were published after Google’s new policy went into effect on November 9th, and Google ads stayed on the pages as of Wednesday morning. After the Washington Post asked about these ads, 37 of them were removed by Wednesday.
