Exciting Opportunity for Educators – It’s the PBS Media Literacy Educator Certification Academy!

Today more than ever, teachers need assistance with digital media literacy, in both remote and traditional classroom environments. The WOUB Learning Lab and all The Ohio Ed Techs are partnering with KQED to share the PBS Media Literacy Educator Certification with educators in this series of professional learning courses.
The courses are open to all educators in Ohio, including PreK-12 classroom teachers, librarians, TOSAs, and anyone interested in providing their students with media-rich, digitally savvy learning. The Academy will provide you with the skills and experience you need to cross the points between digital citizenship, media literacy, 21st century skills.
This academy offers educators the opportunity to work with peers in a cohort as you work toward the Media Literacy Educator PBS certification.
The sessions include:
Kick-off meeting of the PBS Media Literacy Educator Certification Academy
Analyze media critically
Create media for use in the classroom: images, graphics, and interactive
Evaluation of online tools for use in the classroom
Evaluation of online information
Creating Media for Use in the Classroom: Audio & Video.
Implementation of media projects
Evaluation of student media
Earn CEUs every month and have the opportunity to earn Graduate Credits!
